Job Description

Taproot Foundation is a nonprofit organization that makes business talent available to organizations working to improve society.​ We engage marketing, technology, strategy, design, and HR management professionals in pro bono projects, called Service Grants, which benefit local nonprofits.​ Our goal is to ensure that one day all organizations with promising solutions will be equipped to successfully take on urgent social challenges.​ To date, we have engaged over 4,500 professionals on more than 1,000 pro bono projects benefiting education, health, environment, social service, and arts initiatives.​


Pro Bono Marketing and Communications Specialists Needed

Apply your marketing and communications skills in a new setting.​ The Taproot Foundation is recruiting for two marketing and communications HR roles:

  • The Internal Communications Manager examines organizational dynamics to create employee communications materials that ensure strong implementation of an annual employee review and goal-setting process for a nonprofit organization.​
    •  A successful Internal Communications Manager has 2+​ years of experience in effectively communicated key messages, programs, and policies across an organization, supporting a strong, distinct company culture.​
  • The HR Marketing Manager works with executive-level recruiters to define the messaging and marketing strategy that will attract the right candidates for a nonprofit that needs to build a stronger, more effective board.​
    • A successful HR Marketing Manager has 5+​ years of experience working with senior executives on marketing issues, helping to set or communicate a strong brand that reflects company culture.​ Prior experience with HR marketing or recruiting is an asset, but not a requirement.​


We make it easy for you to make a meaningful and lasting impact in the community.​ Projects are designed to work around your busy professional schedule and require a 3-5 hour commitment each week over the course of approximately 6 months.​
